1. Jasper White is one of those rare people who believes in ancient myths.

（1）rare: adj. 稀罕的

rare animal 稀有动物

（2）one of + 可数名词复数：……的其中之一

Jamie is one of my friends.

（3）one of + 可数名词复数 + 定语从句，定语从句中常使用复数动词：

She is one of those people who care about rare animals.

* 英式英语中，常为了强调 one，从句中常用单数动词

2. He has just bought a new house in the city, but ever since he moved in, he has had trouble with cars and their

owners.

trouble: n. 麻烦

have trouble with: 同……闹纠纷；因……苦恼

仿写：… have just done …, but ever since …, have had trouble with …

Mr. James Scott has just bought a new garage in Pinhurst, but ever since he found that he could not get a telephone for

it, he has had trouble with requests for spare parts and other urgent messages.

3. When he returns home at night, he always finds that someone has parked a car outside his gate. Because of this,

he has not been able to get his own car into his garage even once.
