Dear David,
I hope you’re doing well. I am writing to share some feedback regarding the cooperative
learning approach we’ve been using in our English class this semester.
Cooperative learning has been an integral part of our learning process. We’ve had group
discussions, team projects, and various collaborative activities. It’s been a refreshing change from
traditional teaching methods. From my perspective, the experience has been quite positive. I find
that working in groups not only enhances our understanding of the material, but also improves our
communication and teamwork skills. It’s a more engaging way to learn and has boosted my
confidence in using English.
Overall, cooperative learning has been a valuable addition to our English class, and I’m
grateful for the opportunity to learn English in this interactive and collaborative manner.
Yours,
Li Hua
第二节(满分 25 分)
When Nicholas didn't show up, his father realized there must be something wrong. The
father contacted the police, and a search team was gathered to look for the missing teenager.
Although the weather conditions were poor and the wind was still fierce, they didn’t lose hope of
finding Nicholas alive. They knew the clock was ticking, and Nicholas stood a better chance of
survival the earlier they found him. The team split up. One of the searchers who knew the area
better decided to sweep a mountain trail he used to hike up.
The next day, Nicholas heard the sound of a snowmobile. He went out and followed the
sound to find help. He had walked for about a mile when he heard someone calling his name. He
moved towards the sound, and sure enough, a few minutes later, he came face to face with the
searcher. Despite feeling weak, Nicholas was generally in good condition. Then, he was carried
back to the ski resort to be reunited with his family, feeling really happy.

Text 1
W: Do you want to eat out tonight or would you rather eat at home?
M: We’ve eaten out a lot this week. I’m perfectly happy to stay home for a change as long as I
don’t have to cook.
Text 2
W: How are you going to get home?
M: Oh, I can just take a bus or a taxi. There are usually plenty of taxis around that area.
W: Yes, but not on a Sunday night. Why don’t you ask Kevin to drive you home? He’s coming
along with us.
Text 3
M: How are you and your roommate getting along?
W: Pretty well. She usually comes home late, but she’s always careful not to make any noise in
case I’m sleeping. I like that. She’s a real change from my old roommate who only ever cared
about herself.
Text 4
W: These should control your backache. You should detect improvement within two days.
M: But my wife used a different medication for her back pain.
W: There are different factors that determine how a medication will work. I can’t just give the
same medication to everyone.
Text 5
W: I’m taking the job at Glendale Books. It’ll be good experience to work for a publishing
company.
M: How are the benefits?
W: There’s an excellent health plan. The company pays ninety percent of employees’ health
insurance. And it gives everyone free health club membership.
M: That’s amazing! Congratulations!
Text 6
M: Have you thought about applying for a scholarship?
W: Do they have any? I mean, my dad is always complaining about how much money it costs
him.
M: In your department, there are actually three full scholarships available. But there are only two
in my department. They cover school fees and provide $1,500 cash.
W: $1,500 cash?! Party!
M: Please, Miss. The money is intended more as a textbook allowance, not party money. If you
promise to behave, I’ll show you how to apply.
W: Great, and thanks!
Text 7
M: Judith, I just wanted to thank you for all your help. All of the flyers and posters you made for
this years Jazz Festival look amazing.
W: No problem! I was delighted that you asked me to get involved! I really hope that this years
event proves to be a big success.
M: Well, I just heard that a reporter from Gold Soundz magazine is here to write a review of all
